If we were to pick a word to describe the 2010 Doc Lausch New Toy, that word would have to be “acceleration.” In designing the Doc Lausch New Toy, a directional board that’s the direct translation of the original board within the Surf Prescriptions lineup by shaper Jeff “Doc” Lausch, Slingshot ensured this board will accelerate your riding.
Even at low speeds or in low wind conditions, this board planes easily, thanks to its shape and wider tail. It will shine in low wind and mushy waves conditions. This is not to say the board will not handle bigger surf well. In decent size surf the 2010 Doc Lausch New Toy shines thanks to its double bump round tail, which keeps the board loose.
Again, the one word that would perfectly describe this board is “acceleration.” This board goes so fast in the waves that if you could pull off one move with other boards, you will be able to pull off three moves in the same time with the 2010 Doc Lausch New Toy.
If you are a bigger rider, then you should get the 5’9” Doc Lausch New Toy. If you are a smaller rider and you normally ride a short board, then go with the 5’5”.
