My name is Erik Truelove. I have been an avid user of this product since it came out in 2006. After earning the title of "World's Most Accurate Drummer" three years in a row at the NAMM show (2006, 2007, 2008) and once at the Drum Corps. International World Finals, I began to demonstrate how to use it at various trade shows and also helped produce the instructional DVD that comes with each Beatnik.
I have used it in my own practice and especially in my teaching and have seen firsthand the amazing improvements that my students achieved. The Beatnik RA1200P runs on six AA batteries (not included) but will accept a 9v AC adapter.
(I played on mine for about the first year just on the batteries.)
OnBoard Research Corporation who designed and manufactured these machines recently went out of business and I was able to purchase the remaining inventory.
Please note: The buttons tend to be a little stiff at first but they do get easier to push with a little use. I have no way of servicing or repairing them so THERE IS NO LIFETIME WARRANTY. I offer a 14 day replacement guarantee, shipping not included.

The Beatnik™ Rhythmic Analyzer's internal metronome is the most advanced in the world. It can test you on any permutation for every note from quarter note to thirty second note.
Skill Level Adjustment and Scoring
Select between four skill levels to allow a wider margin of tolerance for timing scoring and accuracy: Expert - within one 512th note; High - within three 512th notes; Medium - within five 512th notes; and Low - within seven 512th notes.
Tap Tempo and Tap Start
Tap Tempo sets the tempo based on strokes, allowing you to manually start a practice session later. Tap Start uses count-off beats to set the tempo and automatically start a practice session on the fly.
