    Description

Antique Vintage Stair Banister Section for 3-Steps Pine 1940's
Here is a small section of banister that was the end of a staircase past a knee wall, so it was only for the first three steps. The home dated from the early 1940's.
The rail and newel are stained/shellacked, while the balusters are painted white; all parts look to be pine. There are some cracks and scratches here and there, but no major damage. A few of the baluster tips split at the nailholes during removal, and there were some splinters on the underside of the railing where the baluster holes.
Please check all photos for condition.
    Dimensions:
-once assembled, the top of the rail is approx. 36-1/2" high
-newel post diameter is approx. 3-1/4" where it meets the step
-newel post peg (that was inserted into the step) is 1-3/4" diameter X 7" long
-hand rail is 2-1/8" wide X 2-1/4" tall
-the angle of the end cut on the handrail is approx. 44 degrees
